This product serves its purpose, but there are three things that could be improved. First, the plunger picks up powder and drops it on the press. Cleaning the brass plunger, and using dryer sheets to reduce static does not help the problem. Perhaps some sort of coating on the plunger would help. Second, it's difficult to rotate the red die body in the press while keeping the sensor stationary. One direction of rotation is easy, the other very tight. Fully loosening the socket head screw does not decrease the friction. Finally, adjusting the magnet to the correct level is a difficult operation. The smooth shaft provides no index to see the amount of movement while adjusting. If the magnet slips, the starting point is lost. Perhaps threading the shaft and magnet would allow an incremental adjustment, and prevent loss of the starting point. [DAA Reply]: Thanks for your feedback and comments. It is appreciate. This may help: Indeed, with some powders, in some climates, small amounts of powder can be picked up through static. This is difficult to avoid but typically is not an amount that has any real effect on function/accuracy. we updated the shoe from plastic to brass to help with this, but its not a perfect solution. The plastic bracket is indeed made of firm material and can be tight on the die to rotate even when the screw is open. This can be easily overcome by inserting a little wedge, like a match or some folded carboard to keep it open while you setup. Threading the rod for fine adjustment is a good idea we did toy with, but found that it added too much friction when the rod was reversed for 223. You can use a pencil to mark a reference line on the side of the body of the powder check, which is near the magnet, and use that for a reference while setting up.

I was looking everywere for these as I've been using wrist weights to try to simulate a fully loaded magazine and was considering trying to build something similar myself, but I'm not that handy and I know I'd make a mess of the project. I received them yesterday and am really pleased. They are slightly longer than a regular G17 mag, but they work very will and the tolerances seem to be spot on to a Glock mag from a fit perspective. I would highly recommend these if you are using a MantisX dry fire training system or their Laser Acadamy product as it simulates the feel of a fully loaded Glock, prevents the slide from locking back during dry fire practice, and also supports a laser cartridge for their Laser Acadamy product. I went all-in with MantisX and don't have experience with other dry fire training products. The the DAA dry fire practice magazines along with the Mantis are a match made in heaven. Mantis has several variants of reload drills and these magazines were the missing piece of the puzzle. I'm surprised Mantis doesn't offer these on their website, but I'm really glad I found them here, and again they work great. The only thing I'd like to see is an option to purchase a magazine with tungston or some very heavy metal to help improve endurance during dry fire training. Maybe this is a bad idea but it would be interesting to try out. Great job Double Alpha team!

I purchased this so I could set a powder charge for a specific caliber and leave it. This is the second one I have purchased and I plan on purchasing at least one more so that I can have one’s dedicated to 9mm and 223 Rem and one for pistol and one for rifle that aren’t dedicated.

Buen material y buen cobertor. Aún con esta tapa funciona muy bien el imán. Además que hace juego con el seguro de la correa.
